Colleges and Communities: Gateway to the American Dream

Among all of the diverse public and private institutions working today to help revitalize distressed American communities, colleges and universities play an increasingly influential and prominent role. When they become involved in local revitalization efforts in partnership with nearby cities and towns, these schools can bring community issues into their classrooms and also take their experience and knowledge to the community. Thanks in part to OUP\'s Community Outreach Partnership Centers program, the community partnership role is growing in colleges and universities all across the country.
